A small detail that you must take into account is that some servers have emojis in gray and the emojis that are available in all the servers. These emojis that are in gray will indicate you that you do not have access to them in other servers, or it can also indicate that it is an animated emoji.

In case you want to have access to all the emojis it is highly recommended that you subscribe to Nitro or Nitro Classic to be able to obtain access to an even larger amount of emojis.

On the other hand, you should not overlook the fact that the customized emojis that have been created for a server are specific to that server, while in the case of the integrated emojis (like the Twitch subscription emotes) they are available in an open and worldwide way.

A detail that we also recommend you to take into account is that if you give some space to the emojis they end up getting bigger. That is to say, when you only send emojis in your message they will appear bigger.

Keep in mind that you can send up to 27 wumbojis in a single message, so this is the limit you should take into account when you want to send a large amount of emojis.

How to add custom emojis?

So far we have already shown you how to put emojis in Discord, but we have talked about the standard emojis, but you should know that we can also find custom emojis in the servers and we can synchronize them with our favorite streamers to be able to use emotes that are integrated in Twitch.

In this way, you must be clear that as long as you have permission to manage the emojis or you are the owner of these, you have the possibility to add up to 50 custom emojis. To do so, you only have to go to “Server Settings” and then you have to select the “Emoji” option, where you will find the option to add the customized emojis so that all the users of your server have the possibility to use them.

Some details that you must take into account about the customized emojis are:

  • The names of the emojis must have at least 2 characters and they can only have alphanumeric characters or underscores, otherwise the name will not be accepted.
  • In order for them to have an optimal resolution, it is recommended that they have a maximum of 128 x 128 pixels, although they can also be changed to 32 x 32 pixels.
  • The emojis must have a maximum weight of 256kb.

As you can imagine, the customized emojis can only be used in the server where they have been uploaded. However, users who have Discord Nitro can use them in all their chats, groups and servers.

This way, those users who do not have a Nitro subscription will only be able to use the customized emojis in the server where they have been originally uploaded. Thus, when you try to use these emojis in another server, only the text of the emoji name will appear.

If you try to select this emoji inside the selector, you will see the message “Get Discord Nitro to be able to use animated and customized emojis anywhere”.

In case you have subscribed to an associated Twitch streamer who has been in charge of activating his own customized emojis in the platform, then you should know that in this aspect you have the possibility to synchronize your Discord and Twitch account to be able to use customized emojis in any of the servers you are part of.
