It is clear that Discord is the most famous and largest chat server application out there, allowing you to create voice and chat channels in which you can create communities and even have video calls. These kinds of features have made this application now not only used by gamers, but it is actually perfect for all kinds of professionals, work groups or friends.
As we have mentioned, this is an application that nowadays can be used by any group or community, so clearly we do not have much to worry about in this regard. Although it is a fact that it is still more used by gamer communities.
With this in mind, it is normal that we want to learn how to share screen on Discord to be able to show our peers how we do something on our computer or within a game. That is why Discord allows us to share screen to be able to show a game, how to make configurations, web content, etc.
Steps to share screen in Discord
To start screen sharing in Discord the first thing you have to do is to enter the server where you want to share screen, and then you will have to enter one of the voice channels you have created in it. When you enter the room, you will see that the microphone is activated and then you will be able to find the different videoconference options.
An important detail to keep in mind is that you don’t even need to activate your video conferencing camera first to start sharing your computer screen.
All you have to do is scroll down, and when you are in the mode to transmit your voice, scroll down to the bottom center of the screen to bring up the options. Inside this bar of options what you are going to have to do is to select the option Start sharing screen to be able to open a window with the different configurations of option to share.
When the sharing options window has opened, at the top you will see that there are two tabs. The first of these tabs is the option Your full screen, which allows you to share everything that you see on your computer screen.
Once you have selected the screen, you will be able to choose the frame rate and the quality of the transmission. In this case you will see that the default option is 720p at 30 fps. Then, you will have to select the desktop you want to share and select the Share button that you will see at the bottom of the screen.
Earlier we mentioned that you would see two tabs, well the second one is the Application Window tab, which is for you to only share a specific application that you have open. Also, within this tab you will also find some options about the transmission such as the frame rate and the quality of the transmission.
You will also see that you have the option to disable or enable the sound of the application. You will only have to choose the application you want to share (in the screenshot you will only see Discord) and then you will only have to select the Share option.
When you have selected the Share button within either of the two tabs we told you about earlier, it will initiate the sharing of your screen in the channels.
If you scroll down again you will see a button that says More screen sharing options, that when you select it you can stop sharing screen, or you can select the option Change windows, to take you back to the window where it seems the option to share only one application or the entire screen.
