If you want to add your bot to your servers it means that you have already created your bot and that you have it ready to be added.
You should know that you will not be able to see your bot on your server until you add it via a special invitation link that you can create with the application’s bot ID client.
In this article we are going to teach you in a quick and simple way the process that you must follow to be able to add it without major complications.
This is what an invitation link looks like:
In order to use them correctly it is important that you understand what the structure of the link is:
- In the first part we have in Discord’s standard link to authorize an OAuth2 application to enter the Discord server.
- In the second part we can highlight the “client_id”, which is used to specify which application wants the authorization. This part of the link has to be replaced by the client ID of your application for the link to be valid.
- In the third part, the “space=bot” part stands out, in which you are specifying that the application you want to enter the server is a bot.
How can you create and use your own invitation link?
As mentioned above, one of the first things to do is to replace the client_id parameter with the client ID of your bot to create a correct invitation link.
To find your application’s Client ID, simply go to the “My Apps” section on the “Applications” page. When you are there, choose application.
Put the app ID in the link just above and enter it from your browser.
In the next step you will have to select the corresponding server and then select “Authorize”.Please note that you will need the “Manage Server” permission on the server to be able to add the bot. You should see a message with a green dove indicating that it has been successfully authorized.
With these steps, you will have finished the process of adding your bot to the Discord server. It should now show up on your server’s member list, indicating that the authorization and implementation has been carried out correctly and that there are no problems.
